Saxemara
Saxemara Artist Studios is located in the centre of the village of Saxemara, known for its rich cultural heritage and its unique combination of forest and archipelago.
Right next door is Birgittas Café & Lanthandel offering basic groceries as well as ready-made sandwiches, pastries, and coffee.
Just a few hundred metres away you’ll find scenic forest walks, running trails, beaches for swimming, as well as a floating sauna with views over the islands, available to book. There is also the option to rent a tennis court or a kayak.
Ronneby
Ronneby is the nearest town (7 km away), with around 12,000 inhabitants. It is known for its award-winning Brunnsparken - often referred to as the most beautiful park in Sweden. In Ronneby you’ll find everything from well-stocked grocery stores, hairdressers, and great second-hand shops to high-quality restaurants and cafés, such as Hiet, Byn och Mandeltårtan.
A scenic cycle path runs all the way from Saxemara to Ronneby, and bicycles are available to borrow. There are also several car trips arranged each week into town for groceries and other needs.

Blekinge
The Blekinge Trail - Hike between Sölvesborg in the west to northeast of Karlskrona, and discover the remarkable diversity of Blekinge. The trail follows paths, gravel roads, and forest terrain. In total it stretches 270 km, divided into fifteen stages, each between 9 and 30 kilometres.
ARK56 - Explore the Blekinge archipelago along and across its waters. You can choose to experience nature and culture on foot, by bike, by kayak, or by boat. Sixteen hubs connect the routes and offer food, accommodation, and experiences. At these hubs, you can often switch modes of transport - hop on archipelago ferries, rent a bike or kayak, or lace up your boots and continue on foot.
Eriksberg Wildlife & Nature – Sweden’s largest wildlife reserve, home to bison, fallow deer, and red deer. Well suited for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.
